October Festival

BeGreen  and Sustaining Dunbar  are hatching plans for a big Autumn community festival/event/celebration over the weekend of  30/31st  October. The theme will be ‘Gathering In’ getting ready for Winter and the plan, so far  is ……… for a community ceilidh on the Saturday evening, followed by a whole day of activities, talks, workshops, stalls, films etc. on the Sunday.E.g. a farmer’s market , local arts and crafts, story telling, a Halloween parade , finding out about local groups,  food, history  and much more .
The event will give local  organisations and   groups and projects, a chance to advertise themselves to a wider audience, and to strengthen networks and links. We are hoping to involve as many local people and groups as possible in the planning and organisation of this event.
There will be a planning meeting next Tuesday evening, 10th August at 7.30pm in the Gibb Room of Dunbar Library. So please  come along if you can. If you can’t, then please do contribute your ideas and suggestions anyway and be sure to put the October date in your diary now.
