East Lothian Council’s(ELC) no-cost insulation initiative is still open to residents in East Lothian . So if you still haven’t got your loft topped up or your cavity walls filled time is running out .
Okay, so you have a flat roof ! ELC can contribute to funding that too.
Its also great news for anyone living in a house with a cellar, basement or which has enough access space underneath the floorboards – underfloor insulation is now available completely free throughout East Lothian as part of the Council’s free insulation offer. This type of insulation could save you around £60 each year and can make a real difference to your comfort by getting rid of draughts in well used rooms like kitchens and living rooms, where it’s really important to be able to feel cosy and comfortable.
Loft insulation top up and cavity wall insulation are also still available free. Even if you have a small extension to your home with a void cavity , if accessible, it can now be insulated ! There are no qualifying criteria to meet; the offer is available to all home owners and private tenants (with their landlord’s permission).
